A Message from Miss Murphy:

Topic – this week we’re thinking about teddy bears! Read your favourite teddy bear books. Some of my favourites are:

  • Where’s My Teddy by Jez Alborough

  • Winnie the Pooh by A.A.Milne

  • A Bear Called Paddington by Michael Bond

  • Old Bear and his Friends by Jane Hissey

  • Hamish: The Bear Who Found His Child by Moira Munro

  • Going On A Bear Hunt by Michael Rosen

And of course, the Teddy Bear’s Picnic!
Why not have a Teddy Bear’s Picnic, either in the garden, or inside if it’s raining? The activities for this week include planning a picnic and how to make jam sandwiches.
Maths – there's an Easter activity booklet to complete. There’s also lots of practical home learning maths ideas and activities. If you find you’re getting through these quickly, let me know and I can upload more.
Literacy – listen to the rhyme of The Owl and the Pussycat and complete the activities as best you can.
You could also practice your Read Write Inc Phonics at home. There are daily videos on YouTube where you can all practice your Set 1 sounds, and some of you can even practice your Set 2 sounds. This is the link to the YouTube channel or you can search Ruth Miskin Training on YouTube. You can also check out their Twitter page (@RuthMiskinedu) for more information about this and for the times of the live YouTube videos.
Science – I've uploaded some experiments you can try at home. If you do them, why not take some pictures and send them to me on Dojo or via Twitter?
Don’t forget, there’s lots of work being uploaded by me onto Education City too, much of which can be completed on a tablet. If you’re unsure of login details, please get in touch.
Finally, don’t forget to keep checking our school Twitter pages to see what we’re up to! The school Twitter handle is @StJohnVianneySch and mine is @MissMurphySJV
Have a good week and stay safe,

Miss Murphy.
