Useful websites

TWINKL have created a code for parents to access all TWINKL resources for free for one month from the day the account is created. You just need to visit the above link, create your own account using an email address and insert the code UKTWINKLHELPS 

They have a number of really helpful guides, designed for parents, for different areas of the curriculum. Their dedicated Parents' Hub contains hundreds of educational activities designed for use at home. 

Reading- Oxford Owl  

As a parent/guardian, you can sign up for free to the Oxford website and will gain access to their full eBook library (which has over 100 eBooks). These books can be used alongside any other reading books the children may have at home. More information will be coming regarding the use of this website. 

English- Writing 

Pobble 365 

The above link will take you to the Pobble 365 website. There will be a picture on the homepage each day as a stimulus for writing. There are questions underneath about the picture to get creativity flowing and a suggested genre of writing for children to do. All past pictures are available from the calendar under 'Pick a day'. 

Literacy Shed 

This website is free to use without registering and has a wide variety of videos which can be used as a writing stimulus. Each video has suggested writing activities for your child to complete based on the video as well as discussion points about the films. More information will be coming regarding the use of this website. 

Maths 

This is a great site for fluency in maths for Years 3-6. There are many resources with arithmetic questions based on previous SATs test papers and YouTube videos associated with some of the content to guide children through. 

Fun educational resources available for 3 years old to 11 years old. 

All children in KS2 have their own log in for this carefully sequenced programme of daily times table practice. 

A variety of subjects 

BBC Education have produced a whole host of materials for Key Stage 1 and 2.  Follow the links and then select the topic you wish.   Each area usually has an information section for reading, plus an activity and then quiz which is marked online.  Some aspects require a subscription. 

Crickweb- free online education resources and games available from Early Years- Year 6. 

ICT Games- a tablet and desktop friendly free resource to support primary-aged children in maths and English. 

Phonics 

PhonicsPlay is currently free to use. Children can use the site at home without parents needing to subscribe. All you need to do is log on using the following details:

Coding 

Children will be familiar with this website which gets them engaged in computer science. Tutorials are available and children work through at their own pace. The games Lightbot and Angry Birds are a favourite! 

Touch Typing 

Dance Mat Typing is a fun way of to learn touch typing.
