During Key Stage 2, our aim is to provide the key numeracy and literacy, (phonics), skills to prepare pupils to fully access the next stages of learning, when they are ready. The School uses the ‘Phonics’ scheme Read-Write-Inc.
The core subjects are complimented by a range of foundation subjects, which are frequently taught through a topic based approach. This is underpinned with extensive enrichment opportunities, where learners are given opportunity to fully develop their personal, emotional, social skills and health understanding.
We also aim to help our learners discover what their individual passions and talents are. The development of physical activity and play in supporting learners’ engagement and social interaction are critical to our intent at Key Stage 2.
